On May 13 , Saudi Customs witnessed the arrival of the first shipment powered blockchain technology. This is the second milestone within the pilot program launched by customs last year, aiming to transform the shipping industry in the region to become faster, more transparent and efficient in its real-time operations.
ZIM Integrated Shipping Services today announced it has signed on as a member to TradeLens, a blockchain-enabled digital shipping solution jointly developed by A.P. Moller – Maersk and IBM.

As part of its blockchain pilot program, Saudi Customs, with its IT partner, Tabadul, has overseen the integration of FASAH with TradeLens. FASAH is Saudi Arabia’s national platform which connects all government and private entities involved in cross border trade.
